1. Select a piece of raw toast.
2. Using the techniques described elsewhere, read the toast. This is the Past Reading, and tells of the events this piece of toast comes from.
3. Toast the raw divination tool, using your preferred toaster settings, or your preferred toaster. Assuming you have established a Toasting Ritual, it should follow this ritual as closely as possible.
4. While still warm, add toppings to your Toast. If you wish a specialized Toast reading, you should concentrate on the question at hand. Many popular toppings include butter, jelly, and, depending on the type of Toast, flavored cream cheese.
5. Using the techniques described elsewhere, read the toast. This is the Present Reading, and tells of your current situation.
6. Consume your toast. This is both a symbolic and actual consumption, and doing so is a vital step in the process (see above).
7. Now read the crumbs left by your consumption. This is accomplished much like Tea Leaf Readings, and experience in the one directly translate into your ability to perform the other. For your convenience, techniques on reading your crumbs are described elsewhere. The Crumb Reading symbolizes your future.
